I am working on restoring my dad"s MM - Twin City. It is KTA 100A Serial Number 303946, built sometime between 1934-1936. I have it running after extensive work on the mag, hadn"t run since the late 70"s. I am curious about the color. It is MM yellow now, I have heard it should be gray. How do I find out?

Allie1: I have been wanting to find a KTA. There is now one for sale on ebay. My question is - How much difficulty did you have finding parts for it? Were they fairly readily available? The one on ebay says it is not stuck, but hasn't run for quite a while. Your advice would be appreciated.

According to the Postma Bros. MM color chart the original paint is MM # JT-9057- TC Gray. either Rust-Oleum Waukesha Gray #724 or P.P.G. - Acrylic Enamel (T-C Gray) # DAR 31953 can be used.

From your serial number your KTA is a 1936 model. It should have been gray leaving the factory. Some of the last ones built were painted prairie gold. These were generally 1937 models or later due to the introduction of the 1937 ZTU which was prairie gold. There is no clear cut line between gray and gold. It is just generally accepted that some late gray tractors came from the factory painted gold.
