Here in mid Mo. the rule of thumb on the plow size was 15 h.p. per plow bottom. Also on the trailer or pull type plows remember to raise the drawbar as high as feasable and you will get the cheater hitch benifits of a three point mounted hitch. It works. Harry

Advertising says "full 4-bottom power". When my father was on his Dad's farm back when the brown Jet Star came out, Maple Valley Implement had a demo day. They had a Jet Star with duals/weights and a fully mounted 4-14 plow that put on a demo that day. I would not have much faith in that setup for heavy ground from experience with a 3-16 in clay sod, but I am keeping an eye out for an Oliver or Moline 4-14 for some of these plow days around here. A U302 engine would work a tad better. Some late Jet 3 Super tractors came with 220 engines from the factory, or so the dealer guys tell me. Good luck and let us know!

My Jetstar will pull 3-14's pretty good in heavy Iowa soil. If you are in sand you may be able to pull a little more in sand. I don't know how much more power a Jetstar 3 has than a regular Jetstar.

I think it was an old advertising stunt for MM to show up with a Jet with duels and pull 4 - 14's or 4-16's.

you might have milk in your nose but it was done right before my eyes right here in Northern In at a demo on my Grandpas Farm . They put it up against a JD I think 3010 or 3020

Used to farm some ground like that myself. 4010 would pull 6-16s. My cousin pulled 4-16 with 670super here and it was a LOAD. That Jet wouldn"t stand a chance!

Grandpa had a 4 14 full 3pt he pulled in they call it around hear good black durt in the midel of IL he had 4 or 5 front waights 1 set wheel waights and tires full of fluid I would see if you could borrow a plow and see how your tractor handels it if you buy a 4 botom and your tractor wont pull it you will not be happy but if you get a 3 botom and have extra power your tractor will be better off
