I have a '53 moline BG. I got it from my dad who bought it second hand well over 30 years ago. I would like to know if there is any other make, brand, or model of starter that will fit this tractor. or Could I get a starter for a specific farmall, allis, or something easy to find and use the insides to swap out and put in my starter housing? We have taken this starter to an old time starter/generator mechanic and he says it's too far gone to fix. I know better.
I also have a BF that I am about to start restoring. This information may help with that as well.

I don't know the whole story on those starters. Zimmerman's is a good place to start.
I am thinking that they are a basic Delco starter. I was thinking that the bendix/drive was kinda special but the rest was basic Delco, if still available.

Also, a fellow that sells on Ebay by the screen name Triodiode had new or new-old-stock bendixes listed for those starters at one time.

Lastly, Bill Williams in Baldwyn MS has a lot of BF and BG parts, and he might be able to help. his number is: 662-728-3747
