I am working on an estate value. There is an old MM in fair condition. It is a narrow front. The tag says model KEC ser.# 540006. It has 14X32 rears, fenders, lights. I think the block # is KC188. Does this help? What model? What year? Thanks for your help.

The engine serial number you posted is for a 1937 engine (the sixth one produced). If this engine is original to the tractor then it's a very early red nose UTU. It could possibly be one of the first 25 UT tractors built in 1936/37.

Where is this tractor located? Someone on this board may be interested in it if its for sale.

Brian

You have posted the information from the engine serial number tag. Look on the side of the transmission for the chassis serial number tag and post the model and serial number. We can tell you the year etc from that number. The chassis tag looks just like the engine tag but is located behind the engine on the tranny. The KEC engine was used in the early 1940's Model UT.

It sounds like it might be an early UTU. Probably built between 1938 and 1940. The tractor model and serial number is stamped onto a plate on the right hand side of the transmission. If you can post the tractor serial number it will help ID the tractor.
