Does anyone have an extra steering housing with worm gear off of a mid to late 1950's Uni with powersteering. Just need the gear housing and stub shaft that goes in the housing ( complete unit goes in the pedistal ). Housing part number is 10A8859 I believe.

Alan, The 4-star front bolster won't fit your M5.

I don't know if the worm shaft/control valve interchanges betseen the bolsters or not, but if your M5 doesn't have power steering now it probably doesn't have the ram, the cylinder sleeves and the hydraulic tubing in the bolster now either. Your pump may not have the priority valve for the power steering circuit in it either.

It might be best to get everything-bolster, pump, control valve and all the tubing off a junker, if you can find one.

P.S. Are you still using the Uni on the farm? Someone asked me today if anyone was still harvesting with one.

I do have power steering on the M5. Just didnt work completely. There are some worn parts I am replacing. Would like to take some of the "slop" up on the stub shaft. I am looking for a piston that goes in the hyd pump also, part number 35P289.
