Hi, The hydraulic lift for the Model R that you have (which does, indeed, operate off of engine oil) is not rare. How common is hard to say, but it is not rare. The single control units are probably more common than the dual control units. You might be interested to know that this live hydraulic system that we are talking about makes the R series as a whole fairly unique: the R M-M was the first production tractor available with live hydraulics, and they were optional from the beginning of production in the 1939 model year. Cultivators for these tractors are fairly hard to find, but they are not necessarily "rare" (but may be considered borderline rare).
