I have aquired a MM. I believe that it is a 445.

What I'm wondering is where do I start? I do not know the year, or any specs. I have several places where there is a number that could be a model number but I am not sure. I don't know if it runs yet but i would like to bring this tractor at least back to working condition. Should I buy a manual, operators manual, parts manual. I just need a guiding hand in where to start

first off figure out what you actually have there will be a brass tag on the transmission housing with tractor model and serial number and one on the engine for motor model and serial then get a operator manaul for that tractor.

I vote for the operator manual too. It will tell you what kind and how much fluids the tractor takes, how to operate it safely (for both you and the tractor's sake) and most have a bit of advice on minor repairs, like a tune up guide.

If you can't find the tag. (445s have their tag on the transmission case by where your right leg would be if you were in the seat.) If you can't find a tag, post a picture.

Then I guess it depends on how mechanically inclined you are. Or if you have a mechanic friend. The next manual would be a repair manual.

A parts manual is nice, it sometimes helps you with assembling parts correctly, but you can get by without one.
