I need anybodys help with finding out where I can get parts and a shop manual for this old work horse? It is Minneapolis Moline powered tractor converted forklift. The engine serial # is 16312639 and the model # is 206L-4.The forklift company is WEST and model # 450 serial # 861450019.It has lift rating of 2500lbs.and a lift height of 18ft.6in.I think it may be a 1973 because it has 73 in print [not stamped] after the serial # on the engine tag. Any info would be appreciated! I really need tuneup parts, carb kit, and filters bad! Thanks for your response!

You have enough numbers and a 206L is a very common engine. Welters Farm Supply, Verona, MO 417-498-6496; they'll have everything you need for the engine.

Your engine was made in 1968. It could have been based on a Jet Star 3 chassis. Look on the right side of the transmission housing for the actual tractor serial number from Moline. Moline made several stripped down chassis for other manufacturers. Moline called them Packages. If yours was based on a Moline Package then the serial number tag on the trans will say PKG ##. I have a Lull Skytrak brick buggy based on a 1957 445 industrial tractor and I know of a late 60's 710 Lull/Koehring Moline Package which used a D236 engine and Big Mo 600 type rear end with hyd shuttle. What type transmission does yours have?

I'm not sure what a shuttle trans. is but it has alever on the left side of the trans. for fast direction change [forward & reverse]along with the regular gear box.

The lever you describe sounds like a mechanical shuttle trans. You have to use the clutch to shift from forward to reverse with a mechanical shuttle. The hydraulic shuttles used a foot pedal similar to some modern lawnmowers to shift from forward to reverse and you didn't use the clutch. Moline offered several trans options especially in their industrial lineup. The most popular option was the Ampli-torq 2 speed (hi/lo) trans in front of the main 5 speed gear box. This was most popular in their ag tractors. I don't believe you could get more than one optional trans from the factory (eg. hi/lo and forward/reverse shuttle at the same time).

Brian

P.S. did you find the serial tag on the trans case?

Yes I did thanks to your help! The tag was where you said.I never noticed it before because the frame for the boom cylinder is right in front of the tag.It is a JET STAR 3 model and serial # 28304493 and it has a big 75 stamped next to model then of course JET STAR 3.Could 75 be the year? The trans. has these #'s molded into the case 10A20912 and engine block has 10A9199.Some other info. the lift co. is WEST PCM DIVISION KOEHRING CO. Port Washington Wisconsin. Thanks again!

Also you do use the clutch for the forward/reverse lever and it is 5sd.+reverse but not 2sp.[HI-LO] or at least not that I'm aware of.

The "75" may be an MM Package #. It's not the year as the tractor is a 1968 model.

The hi/lo Amplitorq is operated by a lever that exits the RH side of the trans housing and extends up near the steering wheel.
