: I have an opportunity to purchase a BF MM for 1150 dollars. It is in need of a paint job but it runs very well and has good tires on it. I was wondering if this would be a good deal. It has a wide front end and 3 point hitch.Dear Sir, If that is all the BF needs, I would say that 1150 is not a BAD deal. I don't know if I could call it a good deal, though. Only you can determine that for yourself. You must consider that the price of everything when it comes to old tractors is going up. It used to be that a person could be a restorable M-M for a few hundred dollars or less, but now they tend to be fetching more. You must also consider that tires are quite expensive if you have to buy new ones, plus it also costs quite a bit of money to do a good job of rebuilding a stuck or worn-out engine. If this tractor runs well and has good tires all the way around, those are two really big pluses. $1150 for a BF in that condition is not a bad deal, but you may want to try to haggle on the price if this is an option. Please understand that these are simply my opinons and that others may feel very differently about this subject than I do. I am certainly no expert on tractor value. In fact, whenever someone out-right asks me what something is worth, I say, "That's up to the buyer and the seller." Should anyone else feel differently about this, I sincerely hope they take the time to sit down and reply to your message, as well. I hope I have been of some assistance to you. Respectfully, Brian Rukes, The M-M Registry
