Yesterday I bought a M602 LP that has been closed up in a barn for the past 5 years, sheetmetal and everything seems to be in near perfect condition. I haven't started it yet, mainly because I don't know how. She turns over easily though, never owned a LP tractor so the valves are confusing.

Are these tractors pretty good rigs? Can someone tell me how many of these M602 LP's were made? I paid $700 for it.

Starting attempts, especially if the machine hasn't run in a long long time, should be made OUTSIDE. With that in mind, and assuming you have fuel in the tank, simply turn on the valve that's labeled "Vapor" slowly. Pull the choke out all the way or not at all, and engage the starter. If all's well, she should start. If a 602 is like its predessessor, the M5, the vapor valve is the upper one of the two. After a few minutes of running, turn on the valve that's labeled "Liquid" (the other one) and close the vapor valve.

Sounds like a bargain. I dont know how to start them either off hand, Ive only had gasoline models. They are good but some I believe can crack heads.
