Just my 2 cents worth about the Stuttgart at Reitzel's. I went and looked at it last year and I think it is original. What they are saying is as far as they know there were only 3 made with the Cummins 220. One farmer down there ordered all 3 that way as he liked the Cummins engine better than MM's.They told me they bought it from the nephew of the farmer and he had either sold the other two or was going to. Anyway, still quite a sight to see up close, It must have been quite a handful to drive as it has 2 shifters and some very poor sight lines. Don't think I would want to be the one putting the pin in the drawerbar as it was backing up. But still one awesome tractor to see. Frank

So then it is entirely possible that there are more than 3 as some people, including Reitzel's, think. If that information is indeed true, and farmers could have them custom made based upon the design of the originals, who knows how many there could be?

My wife and I were down in Stuttgart about 4 1/2 years ago, and had a chance to talk to several people. The tractors were "assembled" by the MM dealer in town. Don Oliver was the man's name. At a muesum in town I talked to an old gent who worked there. He said that a farmer would bring in, or purchase two older tractors and the dealership would put one togather. mostly GB or GTB rearends and 605 power units.

The pic looks like the Stutgarts I've seen, guess there were 6 cyl, I've seen quite afew, memory must be gone. When I first started in MM, I was told NEVER say NEVER, they built some different stuff. That's still true. In the MM Corresponder, or the Prairie Gld Rush, there wre some pictures of some of the early ones and some of the late ones. IF I can find them, I'll try to post one or two on here. John

Maybe someone can post some pics of a "real" Stuttgart on here so we can compare? According to Reitzel's only 3 were made, but I have a feeling there were maybe a couple more. Am I right on this?

They have it labelled as a Stuttgart, and are asking $16 000 for it. Click on the link to go to the page with pictures.

After looking at these pictures, looks like a homemade something. A Stutgart had a shifter on the front trans and one on the rear trans, didn't have the Uni steering column, this thing has lots of add on iron under the engine, which should be a 4 cyl, and just doesn't look like any of the Stutgarts I've seen.
