The lever on my 1966 M670 Super when in high range seems to sit too far forward. When in low range it is about straight up. I was told by the guy I bought it from that it had a new torque put in it a few years ago. It has fine "snap" to it when it is moved from high to low. ( havent had a chance to try it out yet ). Any ideas? The parts book shows two pins through the lever and forks. From the seat you have to go full arms length, maybe a little more to reach the lever.

there is not a MM on the farm here that has not had the A T lever heated and readjusted. They just tend to get pushed fwd over the yrs of use and with the proper snap it just plain bends them little by little. I generally heat them near the bend on the horizonal part

The upper part of the Ampli-torque lever should be pointing straight up in the air when in high. When you pull it back into low it should move about eight to ten inches.
Depending on seat position and your height it will be at or a little beyond arms length when in high. I"m 6"3" and it is at full arms length when sitting back in seat.

My family has what we believe to be a M 670 plain. The torque lever on it is just the way you describe. The torque has been replaced. It will be interesting if you can change the levers angle without bending it.
