..... I cant remove the cap on one with my 1/2" 840 ft. lb air impact wrench, I also tried a 3/4" breaker bar w/ a pipe attached to a come along.

The cap won't budge. I have the block heated (with a frost plug heater), and I have run it some and tried the air wrench. I have also soaked them with PB Blaster for days.

Also the one of the two that I haven't cleaned that I did remove the main cap from, wont budge. This is the last cap that makes the cell up with the main body and I am really chewing up the nipple on it with a needle nose vise grip (which I broke in the process-china model).

Really I guess what it comes down to, is it worth pulling them.

Will I have better performance by cleaning them. ALL OF THE MAIN CAPS OVER THE ENERGY CELLS ARE GETTING WARM EQUALLY.

I guess my next step is a 1" or a 3/4" Air Impact Wrench. I guess I don't want to injure the head, nor do I wan't to run with dirty cells if it is an issue.

WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS DO? I plan on rebuilding the injectors, and doing a little maintenance just to have this moline the best it can be.

Love the moline.

I was told to use a bristled rod cleaner and "fish" it thru the fuel nozzle port and across the piston into the energy cell. This worked OK for me, although later the energy cells were all removed when the engine was rebuilt.

Could you post some pictures of them apart??

I'd be curious to see them...

Thanks,
Howard

I sent you an e-mail the other day, no reply. Anyhow to me you are doing this backwards. If that spray pattern from the nozzle is like it should be your energy cell will be clean. So check your nozzles first, If they are not spraying like they should then dig into the energy cells. I worked for an Oliver dealer and probably at one time we had 250 Oliver diesels with energy cells running around. Only ever had one tractor that they were bad on. Only ever had the energy cells out of one Moline (G955) and it was for a different matter . More questions?

 Re: Ok I pulled/cleaned 2 energy cells-inj. rebuild prices? in reply to J Schwiebert, 01-27-2008 15:30:15
Hi. Thank you for replying. I haven't received any emails sorry for the mix up. Ok. I didn't figure they were bad. Just dirty, and the two I pulled did have some build up in the energy cell's inlet cup. I will just have the injectors rebuilt then. Should be easier than checking the spray pattern myself. What is fair for an injector rebuild per/injector?

I just wanted to be thorough and do what I could. I will check the valve adjustments, and what not.

I received the tractor last summer and really like it and want to make sure it is operating to its best.
