UT Transmission Fill Point?

Where do you fill the transmission/rear end on a 1945 MM UT?

I have the top cover off now and I want to find the fill point before I bolt it down. Could it be at the side plug which my operators manual says is the level to fill to? The only other place I see possible is the rectangle plate bolted down to the top cover.

Any suggestions appreciated.

That three cormered plate you drilled a hole in is what you are supposed to take off to fill it to the level of the pipe plug on the right side of the case.

Guys, Looks like a "triangular" plate, that is the fill opening. Just takes a gasket or silicone to close it up.

If I remember right the early UBs (Mine is a '53), did not have a filler hole, you had to remove the gear shift lever and fill there. If you are talking about the "full level" plug, that is on the side of the case. Has a square head.

Well, I couldn't find a fill point so I made one.

I drilled the rectangle plate next to the shift pattern on the top cover to allow a 1" pipe plug to fit into the hole. I threaded the plug into a short piece of pipe collar on the underside, then welded the pipe collar to the plate. It isn't original, but other things on the tractor are done the same way over it's life. See pictures:

I had a UB which should be the same I think? I just filled it while I had the top cover off. I looked and looked but couldn't for the life of me find a fill hole, even when finding out where it was supposed to be which If I remember correctly (slim chance) was by the clutch rod somewhere. Good luck
