I was wondering how much a MM 602 was worth. It runs OK, but needs paint, has wide front, needs rubber, 3-point wont hold up, clutch might need work, and a few other things. Could anyone tell me how much HP they had? Would like to restore it for 4-H.

Greetings Brandon,

M-602 1963-64 61 pto hp 336 cid 4 cylinder. A slightly updated replacement for the M-5.

Only made two years. 1,772 diesels and 2,957 gas & Lp's were procuced.

Value is hard to determine, but consider you could invest considerable costs in repairing and restoring based on your description of rubber, lift, and clutch repairs. Maybe worth $1,000 to $1,500 in condition you describe if there are no other serious hidden problelms (cracked head, ampli-torc not working, pto slipping, etc.) M-602 estimated values of $2,300 poor, $2,700 fair, and $3,500 premium condition would be my guess. From these prices you must subtract known repair costs. For example rubber could cost from $300 (used) to $800 (new). Clutch ($150-300) Lift ($150-1,000)

For a 4-H project I would suggest you find a tractor with most mechanical stuff working, and you can concentrate restoration on clean-up, minor repairs, and paint. The 602 you describe may be just such a tractor. Without seeing it, I can't say. Good luck, and encouragement for your project.
