Looking at a 1050 with White on grill and MM elsewhere. About 72? owner says. Been sitting for some years, oily not rusty. Owner says has hydraulic problem, welded something and put back on and never started since. He didn't go into details on what was done. Newer tires, cab, with no back glass or door on it. Don't know if he has those items. I'm sure batts are no good so probably won't be able to start it. What would be a reasonable price for this w/out much tinkering on it now? I would be taking the risk here. Is this generally a good tractor? I don't farm and it is Way too big for me to use, just thought it would be another project to tinker on along with my JS3 and COE trucks, which ONE I'm buying from same guy. He won't take scrap price, that he has told me. He would like to trade it for an IH or similar smaller tractor. MOst dealers here don't want the MM to fix up! What you think? "G"

i purchased a g 1050 w/a broken crank, bought a new one,yes a new one from my local m-f dealer, also had to buy 2 new heads(old ones were cracked),then rebuilt engine in new. I paid $1500.00 cdn for the tractor +transp and now i have approx.$6000.00 cdn. invested which is not bad, still needs paint and tranny repairs.

this tractor had a cab at one time and now it is being converted with no cab (could use a flat deck,if you could find one for me)

very important the g-1050 is not a 72,because they finished in 1970,and mine is a 1970,although in the books they claim 1971 was the final year.

1970 mm g-1050 started w/s-n 43100286 to 415 1971 s-n started w/43100544 and ended 43100544

this tractor that you are looking at should be bought between $1500.00-2000.00

it is you looking at it, so it is your choice and the grease is free

How long has it sit?Is it a Diesel or LPG? Since you are taking all the risk and cant hear it run or drive it around I would only offer $1,000-1,500 for it.Most MM's have been beat to death.A nice 1050 is worth $4,000-5,000 at the very most.Welters Farm Supply at Verona,MO (417-498-6496) can supply used or new parts for it.1050's were considered to be an average tractor.MM was getting behind the times in the early 70's.
