Jesse,

Don't want to burst your bubble, but there is nothing particularily rare about a ZTU. A ZTN, ZTE, or ZTS would be much less uncommon. They made well over 20,000 ZTU's. If it's a real early one it would have some extra value, or if there was something else peculiar to your particular tractor it could help. Some people like the earlier Z's as they had the non-removable crank in front or the cast rear wheels with demountable rims that look neat.

Jim as I understand it this young man feels that his tractor is rare for whatever reason that is. I have been collecting MM tractors for over 40 years so I feel that every tractor is rare in its own individual way. So I would appreciate it if you would not discourage a young man from the great hobby of collecting antique tractors because this is a great hobby for the younger generation. John,

I've got to plead innocent to this one. I don't see where I in any way, shape, or form discouraged Youngen' from the tractor collecting hobby. I'd never do that, I would only offer encouragement. This hobby is just too much fun. But, he did ask a question and I answered it with a fact; as Harrold said, he can form his own conclusion. It does no good to have him walk around in a fog thinking he has a rare tractor, when in fact it just isn't. It's not as common as an M Farmall, but can't be considered rare. Can we agree to this?

Jim
