Can anyone tell me if this tractor had live power
it doesnt have a 3 pt. and I have engaged the pto
but it doesnt seem to be live power. what would it take to make it live power if it didnt come with live power.

I don't think the G VI was available with live power- and unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to get it. For live (or independent) PTO, you need two shafts coming back from the flywheel (one inside the other), and it has to be designed into the system when built because the shaft that runs the transmission has to be hollow.

That is not completely correct. All that is need is a way to stop the froward motion of the tractor while the PTO is engaged. This was done on the Molines by having a hollow shaft on one side of the diferrential. There was a second shaft on the inside of this shaft. There was a clutch connecting the two on the end. By releasing the clutch all of the power came out one side of the diff and the tractor stopped, however the PTO continued to operate. i have been told that this WAS an option on the GVI, but I do not know that for sure.

Thanks for setting the record straight- It's kind of a roundabout way of achieving "live" PTO, but I guess it would work. Come to think of it, not too much different than the "Power Director" on Allis Chalmers.
