Does anyone have one of these early Unis, restored or not? I'm curious as to what the whole thing looked like, just what it was called, what attachments were available, and if I could possibly find one to restore. The whole concept seems really cool to me, that they were making these in the 50's.

My dad used Unis' for years...has at least 2 engine units and several corn 'picker - sheller' attachments.

Last time I was over there, The Tractor Retirement Village had two of them setting there. One for sure had a picker body on it and I don't remember what was on the other, it may have been a combine. He can be reached at the following:

This is Alan Farley, and I saw an ad for the Tractor Retirement Village and was wondering if you think he is a good guy to deal with and good on his prices. Does he have very many Case 30 series (730,830,930, or 1030's mostly for parts? I was thinking about going up there for a comfort king seat since mine is shot and a new one is $140! My neighbor still runs his MM uni for some of his corn acreage, it is in very nice shape but will probaly be interested in some of those parts.
Thanks

Old Ed himself is a typical boneyard guy. If you go and have a Case, plan on spending all day, you can get him talking. :-) Part of the fun is seeing all his contraptions for working around the place. I would recomend calling before you go to make sure he is there. Place is kind of hard to find, but you will know it when you get there, stuff setting everywhere. However, it is a very interesting place to walk around and it is really pretty well organized. For pricing, take new price and cut it in half that will give a rough estimate on things you can still get. Don't expect any bargins on things that you can't, but I don't think he is too bad. I really can't answer your question about the 30 series Cases although I believe he did have a couple setting out there. I do know he has a bunch of VC CA VAC and the like. Even if you come home empty handed, it is a nice day trip if you like to look at old tractors and such.... lol

Nate,
I have one that is not restored. It is the second model that they built. It has a 206V4 engine with overhead valves which uses the same blocks, heads, pistons & rods as the 445, 4star etc. These tractors as well as the 1st ones had only one 18" rear wheel. They had power steering similar to a 445 on this model but I think some of the 1st ones had only manual steering. I have a 2 row picker, 2 row sheller and an old junk combine. They also made a Uni-balor, Uni foragor and a 2 row corn head for on the combine. I have a couple of the balors that were put on carts by M-M when they were new to be used behind tractors with a PTO. I once had a corn head for a combine but junked it before I knew it was a rarity. I think they made some sort of swather for them also but have never seen one. Hope this helps.

Thanks J. Do you plan on restoring it?
