I recently acquired an old model (around 50's) B.F. Avery tractor. I have searched for id numbers and can't find them on the gear housing or on the rails near the shifter. I did find a stamp that said B.F. Avery Tru-Draft, I don't know if that is a certain model. If you can provide information it would be greatly appreciated.

If it has a solid mesh grill like a JD 80,820,830 and has a 4 speed trans with a round shift lever it is a Avery R or a M-M BF. If the grill has up down rounding with bars and a single or narrow front it may be a Avery A. If it is in the farmall cub size with a flat gear shift lever it is the Avery or M-M V. Hope this helps.

The tractor is farmall cub size. The tractor was given to me.The grill has flat horizontal bars with a vertical bar in the middle. The shift is a flat bar. Would you know where a serial number could be found?

Chris,
The serial number should be stamped in the top of the right side frame rail just in front of the bell housing near the air cleaner for all model V.
