A friend of mine has a tractor that the hydraulic pump needs rebuilding. We are not sure what the tractor make is. It is slightly larger than a Ford 8n. Most of the castings are marked B.F.Avery. Painted Red now but under that it is Yellow. Steering shaft goes over top of engine to gearbox and then down to wide front end. Engine is a Hercules IXB. The hydraulic pump mounts to the timing cover in front of the carb and is marked "EATON". Can anyone tell me where to look for the tractor model no# and where do I get parts for the hydraulic pump ?

Upon re reading your article it sounds like you have a "BG" the only over the top steering shaft I see in the book I have is a "BG".*****lgd

Sounds like you have an avery"A","R" or maybe an early "BF", or "BG" series. The ser.# is on the right frame rail at about the transmission shift lever, if it has only 3 forwards it will most likely be the"A", think all the rest had 4 speed trans.Look up the Avery web site and it will give the model and year from the serial # listing. *****
