I just put a new late model U manifold on my
51 UTS. The tractor hasn't been run for about
a year. Upon starting it was like the govener
wasn't even hooked up, the engine was screaming
I shut it down right away. There is no binding
in the linkage. The arm that goes from the govener
to the carb just flops around with ease.
Any one have any ideas? Thanks

The linkage to carb is all the way down. With tracor throttle in slow position at the govener
willstill open carb. I can push it down with my
finger, but it will still work it's way up.

Hello,
your new manifold hangs your carb lower then the old one.
with the tractor off,
push the trottle all the way open,
the governor rod should be all the way up.
hold the trottle open on the carb, and make your rod the leght bettween the two. that is the starting place, then you may have to adjust for rpms and other fien tunning
if it still dont work email me at shawn7240@yahoo.com
and i will help you out some more
Shawn

If U happens to be propane the control lever can slip on the throttle shaft and require adjusting.
