What can I expect Hp wise from a 283 MM with 4206 heads, L.P. exhaust manifold and intake turning @1750rpm running on 100 octane leaded fuel with a tsx 67 carb???? What about with 4 5/8" cylinders

Thanks Turbine Dude.

I would expect about 65 HP if you want some real power put a G crank in there with an off set grind and a set of 4.75 pistons in there. I sell parts and reground cams for the wild or mild. I'm working on a 5.50 bore x 7.50 stroke U now.

I would guess you have the MM G850, which is basically an Oliver 1755 in yellow MM livery. This had the Waukesha 283 in the gas block, 310 Diesel. In standard trim, the 283 gas put out 86+ HP at the PTO. Typically turboing an engine that size adda about 20-25 horse in the diesel, and I would expect similar results for the gasser. You could get a little more depending on how extreme you want to go and how long you want the engine to last. The Waukesha block was not known for holding together too well when heavily turbo'd or otherwise modified. This block would ventilate itself with blown rods if overdone. If you want to work it in the field i would keep it to a modest increase, or if you like that particular tractor and want more ponies, drop in a cummins B5.9, the engine of choice in a power swap. Now, if that 283 were a Chevy, hmmmmm , lots of power upgrade possibilities there, Come to think of it, I once saw a David Brown 990 that someone dropped a Chevy 350 into. Looked like a nice job. Bet That baby smoked the fields. :-)
hope this helps

Hi! My name is Merlin, and I work at Cummins North Central in Saint Paul, MN. I have re-powered about four dozen tractors with Cummins diesel engines. A Cummins 6B5.9 engine would work well in your Moline/Oliver tractor. Merlin the Tractor Guy

This is the MM discussion board. Not Oliver. Not Chevy.
If you knew anything at all about MM, you would know that 283 is the stock cid of a U-UB.

Hello,
My guess with 4.25 bore and 5 stroke, about 50 horse, 4.625 bore about 60 horse.
but dont know what else are you going to do with it?
old wore out motor might not make that horse, and a new with some more mods might be a lot more just depends on how well you know what you can do with a MM
hope that helps
Shawn
