i removed the water pump from my m 670 and mistakenly removed the dist assembly also.my question: are there timing marks on the drive and distributer gear? there appears to be one on the large gear, but i can't find one on the small dist. drive gear. are these gears supposed to be marked and meshed or do i just put it all back together, pull out the dist, set the flywheel to tdc and time it that way? any help appreciated.

On the U's that is what you do. set #1 cylinder to TDC and put the distribuitor in with the rotor pointing to whichever lug in the cap is #1.
