I have a 445 I bought 8 months ago. I finally got the engine broke loose. It had 3 stuck exhaust valves. I got 2 freed up. Any ideas on freeing the 3'd one? The ampli-torc lever also seems to be stuck. I don't know which range it's stuck in.
It was parked about 20-25 years ago because the clutch had gone out. I know i'll have to split it to repair the clutch. Any ideas on freeing the ampli-torc or possible causes for the lever being unmovable?

Try using a can of kroil lubricant for the valve. If the ampli-torq lever is stuck up towards the tractor its in high range.

I figured out why the ampli-torq was stuck! Someone had cranked the adjustment nut down with the lever in high. I had to back the nut off 12 notches to get the lever to operate properly. This tractor was sold to me supposedly with the clutch being out. The disc and pressure plate look pretty good. The clutch pedal was out of adjustment. Any comments?

Correction: I meant the ampli-torc was adjusted in low which is the correct position to adjust the thing in, but the discs were already so tight that it couldn't possibly compress them enough to go into high. So it was stuck in low. Thanks for any comments.
