Hello All! I do not own a John Deere tractor that requires the AC C86 or AC C87. I collect english outboaed engines called British Seagull. The hole line-up of models carried by British Seagull, are a 18mm medium heat range spark plug. I have tried several manufactures, all in the suggested heat range and have found that in an AC brand plug, the C86 is a colder sparkplug and the C87 is a warmer sparkplug. Here is the deal.If you are working the engine for long periods of time under a heavy load, and not letting the engine idle for extended periods of time, go with the C86. For use in parades, not using any attachment's on your tractor, go with the C87. In my British Seagull outboard's, I will use a C87 as I like to troll at slower speeds fishing, which would carbon up or oil-foul a colder sparkplug sush as the AC C86. Try several manufactures of spark plug's in the C86 heat range. NGK AB-6 Champion D-16 or a Champion 8 Commercial spark plug. Have fun with your tractor's. Bruce.
