I have an M5 like Shep's. Mine came from southern Saskatchewan and has a cab made by Excel Industries Inc [ faceplate on driver's door ] -- looks like made specifically for this tractor. Roof overhangs the windshield by about 8 in and the back is vertical not slanted as Shep's.

I would like to know what make of carburator I have.

I dont think that this cab was a factory option, but it looks good on there. This is about the only M5 I have ever seen with a cab. I like the dog in there too.....

Shep, your right that is a good looking Brittany Spaniel. Do you have any idea what that cab came off of? its cold up here on the mountain pushing snow and sure would like to get warm. Thanks very much for the Picture,Richard.

The cab in the photo looks like one I have seen on a few Case tractors like the 730,830... A few years ago we had in a M5 with a Mead Cab. It was ok but not as nice as a Year-a-Round or Hiniker. I had a customer in earlier today geting front end parts for his M602 and he was telling me that his brother got a cab off a IH 706 that was being parted out. He said it fit on very good and not much to modify. He thought it was a factory IH cab but he wasnt sure and I didnt get to see a photo of it to see who made it. The M602 is the model that replaced the M5.

I really dont know what that cab is, the picture where I found it didnt say, it kinda looks like an oliver Hiniker type cab, I guess it could have come off of an oliver or a later model moline. It sure is a good lookin M5 though. You could probably make an oliver cab fit the M5 if you did a little modification, the M5 is not a whole lot of a different frame and size than an Oliver 1650 or so. Good luck

I think the only cabs MM ever made were the UDLX and R Cab. They did market some cabs made by Meade Mfg Co for the 670 which could be adapted to M-5. In my opinion these were poor quality.. They sold Cabs by Crenlo mfg as factory options on 1000 vista, 950, 1050, 1350, 955, and 1355. It was very good quality and probably could also be adapted to M-5. You might consider a canvas type heat houser if they are still available.

I have a cab on my U302 and it is very quiet compared to my Fords without cabs. Great for snow plowing but hard to get into as the sliding door freezes in the track.
