I have MM GDB with a 425 diesel engine. Is there any differece between the gbd 425 and the newer model MM's with 425's in them?

Bill,
I think only newer tractors with a 425 Diesel is the GVI and G704. The later tractors that had the 425 gas/LP engines had a 451 diesel (ie G900, G950 & G955). The 425's above were very similar to the one in your GBD. I think the heads & some of the manifolding was a little different, but the injection pump and injectors were basically the same. The bellhousing was the same also. The later 451's have a small bell like the 504's in the G1000's etc (about like where your bellhousing adapter bolts to the transmission). They also used the Rosa Master injection pumps instead of the American Bosch units that were on the earlier ones. If I remember correctly, some (if not all) of the crank journals are smaller on the GBD than the later ones. There were some real late 955's that had the full circle rear seals in which the flywheel mounting is different than the earlier ones. Also the rear of the cranks on the 451's are bored for the PTO hubs.
Hope this helps
John
