I recently acquired a M602 diesel that I intend to use for snow plowing in Maine. I only have generator power so am looking for the best type of heater that I can use for just a couple hours to help with starting. I am thinking of freeze plug heater. What size? Which freeze plug? Where can I get one that fits? Thanks for any suggestions.

If you want to heat it up in a short time get one of the tank type heaters. On a tractor of this size a 1000 watt heater would warm it up quick. We had a 1500 watt heater on a JD 2520 and it would heat up in about 1/2 hour. We have had a couple of G1000's in with the 1500 watt heater and a M670 with the 1000 watt heater. For short time heating I like the tank type best. If it is pluged in all night the freeze plug heaters work great.

I use one heater in the freeze plug on my 5-star diesel and it starts good in the cold. But you could put two on the 336 , one on each jug. I think they have 1 1/4 inch holes.
