Jet star hydraulics

My Jet Star 3 has hydraulics which seem to work fine,but i don't see any type of air breather on the system.And i am wondering if it had been removed by a former owner.The fill line has been plugged and a different one added to the housing which simply has a pipe plug in it.The schematic in my parts manual shows the missing parts but makes no mention of a vent. Any ideas? Thanks,Jeff

There is a small copper line on top of the lift right behind the seat. This is the vent line.

The other end of that copper line should be plumbed into the side of the transmission case.
That way, no dirt can enter the system.
