What is the best LP carburation for M5 or 602's I bought a late M5 that needs work on the carb.. This one has Ensign on but starts hard, our neighbor has a 602 with Century, but he says that Century cracks heads easy. Also are parts for either easy to get? Thanks for any help.

Ive got a M602 on propane with the ensign system.I like propane tractors and have been around quite a few.In my opinion Ensign is the best, however hardly any parts are available.Propane tractors are very sensitive to igniton problems.Check the points and the timing and the plugs. My 602 starts very hard when plug gaps and other settings are used for a gasoline tractor.Read the wrong column in the service manual and learned that the hard way.

Yes the Century have a rep for cracking heads. I like the ensign. My guess would be the starting adjustment on the carb is out of adjustment or the ignition timing is needs work. The other option is a IMPCO that would be available from your local LP distributor. Good LUck

Don't have any LPs at the time but if remember correctly one of the regulators is hard to get parts for. Don't know if this applies to carb also but might want to check on it.

I always have preferred Ensign but parts for them in our neck of the woods are practically non-existant. I've never known any particular brand of carburation being any worse to crack heads than another..
