LP or Diesel?

I'm looking at several different G900 and G1000 tractors but wasn't sure which to purchase. I've heard some good and some bad about LP tractors. Are LP tractors more difficult to repair than diesel? Did the LP models make more horsepower under load than the diesel? This will be a field tractor so easy refueling is a must. Any feedback would be appreciated. I'd like to hear everyones two cents worth. Thanks.

If I were thinking of running the tractor when at all cold I would prefer the lp over the diesel. As far as fueling goes it it not hard to make up a portable tank to take to the field. My experience with diesels are that they are hard starting in the winter if they have much wear on them ( molines at least). In regards to well used tractors I would rather put points, plugs, etc in an lp then spend alot of money on a rebuilt pump/injectors. Lp will either run or not, most times run even after they have set.

Refueling a LPG tractor can be a real pain if not set up for it off a main tank. It is not easy to take the fuel to the tractor. The tractor usuallly has to go to the fuel (tank). The diesel should be less maintenance excepting the more frequent oil changes. LPG machines have points, condensers, spark plugs, etc. to keep up with. LPG's run super clean, strong, and smooth. Diesels should probably get more service hours with less maintenance and run just as strong. Hard to beat a diesel for low maintenance and neglect, yet reliability.

We had an LP SM when I was a kid. Ran great, changed oil only 2X per year, oil always clean, more power than a gas SM, but not as mutch as a diesel. ALWAYS had to come home to refuel, which was the only drawback. Have a well driller friend that uses an anhydrous ammonia nurse tank (on wheels) to store his LP. Takes it to jobsite w/him to fuel his LP powered well rig. Bought this outfit in the early 60's (new) for just that purpose-still uses it. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
