Dave, I have a 1946 UTI, it never had a loader on it. Grandpa bought it when it was 5-6 years old. What info did you want, I'll try to help..... Roger

Are you familiar with the braking system on the MM UTI? It is quite a bit different from my other MM U's. We just got the thing in the shop and it looks as though it might be difficult to work on. Everything is built very heavy, and the brakes appear to be located in the wheels themselves. It has a huge nut-- probably about 4 inches across on the end of the axle. The wheels themselves appear to be "split" that is... of the split-rim variety. This may be a very interesting restoration. Thanks, Jon Hineman

Jon, Does your cast wheels have a part # of FT2295B close to that big hex nut? if so you have the same wheels as mine. You are right about them being HEAVY, I can't personally say that with experience, but Dad told me they are, he & Grandpa had them off back in the 50's. They are Bendix brakes & yes they are inside the cast wheel rather than up on the differential shaft like the row crop U's. Mine didn't work too good until a few years ago when Dad got under there & set them up. They work good now. If my scanner worked I could scan the manual I have to show you the page on the brakes. I have no idea if lining is available anywhere unless you could find some o the same diameter & drill them to fit..... .Roger
