For some interesting historical information on the M-M cornshellers, check out Alan King's "Data Book No. 2, Minneapolis-Moline 1910-1959" available at vintage tractor booksellers for between $10-$20. I got my copy from R&D Books from Butterfield MN. The Butterfield Threshermen's Assn. has a fantastic annual steam and gas engine, threshing, and vintage tractor show. Check out page 20 for a B&W picture of a cornsheller and hammer mill c. 1936 and page 39 for a B&W illustration of a sheller schematic c. 1954. The Wendel and Morland book on M-M Tractors contains information about cornshellers. The Sayers book on M-M Tractors contains some nice color photos of the Model E and Model D cornshellers(pages 48, 79, 80). I bought a Model D cornsheller from a West Central Minnesota farmer for $200 last summer. He has another unit that was sitting in the back pasture, had been tipped by a windstorm (wanted $150) with some bent tin. I found the Model D manuals at a show and auction later on, but those are black & white or blue & white illustrations. I will endeavor to email a color photo of my Model D to Tony Turner in the near future for the photo archive. I also have some photos from the Pioneer Power Threshing Show at Hanley Falls MN from last summer with M-M tractor powering a M-M cornsheller off the belt pulley. My next problem is to figure out what replacement belts to obtain, and where to locate the proper belt for running the Model D off the belt pulley from my M-M tractor. Anyone with information on this question, please let me know.
