Greetings, I've got a MM Model B1 I inherited from my Dad. I was going to just have someone haul it off until I started looking around for one on the WEB. So far I havn't seen one yet, not even any references to a B1. Probably just dont know where to look. Now i hate to give it up until i find out some info on it. Any one with ideas would be a great help. Looks like maybe built late 50's, it was parked running, has live PTO, needs clutch linkage replaced, and has an 8' mower deck on back. I mowed with it up until the time I parked it. I can send picture if anyone is interested.
Thanks,
Randy Drum

Randy,
The M-M 445 has the model number of B1 on the serial number plate near the right hand brake. If it has 28" rear tires tires, it is either a utility or industrial model. If the rear tires are 38" it is a universal model. There were more than 4800 universals gas/LP's made. Over 2250 utility gas/LP's were produced. There were also industrials and diesel models of both the universal and utility built. 445's were built from 1956 thru 1959.

Hi,

If the data plate just reads Model B1, then it's likely the Universal version of the 445. 445 Utilitys were known as "B1P"s, and 445 Industrials were known as "B1W"s. More info is available on these models in my book, _Illustrated Buyer's Guide: Minneapolis-Moline Tractors_.

Replacement parts shouldn't be too difficult to find for a 445, particularly the Universal or Utility models.

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

Respectfully,
