I have found one of these tractors and would like some info on them. The hood has decals of both Avery and Minneapolis Moline. It has a single front tire, but missing the grill. Looks as if its all there other than the grill. My tractor books has very little info on them. Thanks for your help.

There should be a s/n stamped into the right frame rail about where the transmission is. There is an Avery website for collecters that will give the model designation from the serial # Do a web search it is bright.net/~kault195/ they have a pretty good website. You could have an R, or BF depending on circumstances. I have a Bf and an A in my boneyard if you need to see a photo. Gene Davis

Any chance it could be a BF? The grille-does it look like a piece of rippled perforated sheet would wrap around the front, kinda like some of the larger, styled 2cyl John Deeres?

Does it have a hydraulic reservoir under the gas tank? Most MM BF's I have seen have this reservoir. Earlier production-(probably Avery) tractors had a smaller, cylinder-reservoir combination along the right side of the engine and I think most of these were designated 'R'.

I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking that some of the unsold Averys were repainted Prairie Gold and sold as MM's.

Kelvin; You are right, it is a B F. I think it has a hydraulic tank below and to the rear of the gas tank. I do not have the tractor home yet, it is to be picked up this week sometime. The grill is missing, so I dont know what it should look like. (dont know where I may find a grill, do you?) I thank you for your help. This is the first tractor that is not a Massey-Harris that I have, so Minneapolis-Moline is all new to me.
