hello, I have just purchased a MM G1050 with a Roosa-Master fuel system.it seemed to run good until I filled it up with fuel, now it runs rough, and the more Iseem to work on it ,the worse it gets.the tractor overheats and does not seem to develope full power, and breaks up from idle to full throttle, it will idle smooth for about ten seconds then kinda snorts and blows out a big puff of greyish smoke. I have since replaced the air filter, cleaned the radiator took out the thermostats, drained and cleaned the fuel tank, blew out the fuel lines replaced the fuel filters had the injectors tested [they told me they were not developing full pressure so Ithought my problem was solved but thats when it started running worse than before]. also I checked the timing. I don,t have much hair left this is driving me nuts. thank you for your help Ray

Are you sure you filled the tank with good fuel?
Sounds as if problem started with this batch of fuel, gasoline will make the exact symtoms you describe.

Ray,
It sounds as if it could be that the governor drive ring in the injector pump has failed and is causing the pressure regulator valve (on the top of the pump where the return line is connected) to raise the case pressure on the pump above the specified level. The pressure regulating valve is the black piece that screws directly into the pump housing. If the drive ring has failed, there are usually black pieces of it in the vlave that you can see when looking thru it at a light. IF you can't see any, I have held a light colored rag around it and blown thru it with compressed air (from the side that goes toward the pump) then look at the rag for pieces.
Hope this helps
John

FOR JK tHANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWER . BUT i HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION. i TOOK THE RETURN LINE OFF SCREWED OUT THE PEICE YOU MENTIONED ,IN THAT PEICE IS A SMALL HOLE BUT THAT HOLE HAD A PEICE OF WIRE THRU IT, IS THAT NORMAL? ALSO IF THE GOV. DRIVE RING IS BAD IS THAT SOMETHING I CAN REPLACE MYSELF OR HAVE TO GET THE PUMP REBUILT? THANK YOU RAY WISH IT WAS AS SIMPLE AS THE WRONG FUEL.
