I am looking to buy a 1355 mid time and has factory cab with air what are somethings to look for and some pluses and minuses with the unit as a hole? When did they go to direct injection on those tractors? Another question is how many did they build includeing the white 2270 and the oliver version? I looked at some figures that didn't make since the other day and wanted to get the low down on it Thanks.

We are looking at selling our G1355 it is 1974 model, we purchased it brand new. Currently runs but needs engine work. 2-4 out 6 cyld needs work, crank should be good. It has 23.1 * 34 tires and one of them is in good shape. It has a cab, but we have not used the air in years. call 701 663 9239 for questions

Whatever you do, get G1355 with an external oil pumpo or convert it if it doesn't have one. The internal oil pumps, the gears on the pump and camshaft wore out after about 750-1000Hrs. My book says that the 1355 was built only in 1973 and 74. In 73 about 8,000 were built and in 74 not quite 10,000 were built. A 1355 should have direct injection. My books don't tell me how many 2270's were built, but were built the same years. If your not stuck on the MM name, I would buy a White 2-150. It is the same thing as a G-1355 MM. We have one and it is a pleasure to drive. It also has a nicer cab on it. We put a turbo on ours running about 225-240Hp and it works great. We also have a 2155 Oliver that is the same as a MM G-1350 and is 100% MM. Only about 210 of these tractors were made with the Oliver designation on the side. THe 1355 or 2-150 has the MM engine with an Oliver powertrain. IF you have any particular questions, EMAIL me.

I agree about buying a 2-150 instead of a G-1355. We have one and it has a better cab and tons of power and torque as a G-1355 would. We have been more than impressed and satisfied with it as this past spring was our first one with it. I wouldn't trade it for anything as anything else would be a giant step down. If you can, get a White 2-150, you will not regret it!!!!

Hi, M. Kuhns! What parts did you use to turbocharge the 2-150? The only factory parts I have ever sen for the 585 were for a 2655/A4-T1600. Merlin

All we did was welded a flange to the top of the manifold and mounted on a M&W turbo. Never had the tractor on a dyno to see exactly how much Hp it was pushing. The stock fuel pump is turned up all the way and it is burning all the fuel. Probably around 225-240. It doesn't smoke a bit in under load. We couldn't hold the power so we put in a double disk clutch out of a White 2-180. I imagine you could put the manifold on off the 2655, if you could find a donar. The intake manifold we welded the one end shut and cut a hold diectly across from the turbo in the intake. This helped for more even air distribution. i just got done overhauling it, and we put in new pistons that go in a 2655. These have the keystone rings in to held for better sealing and didn't cost much extra. We have an Oliver 2155 pulling tractor with around 400 Hp with the larger head in the pump and similar turbo.

I'm amazed at how much HP you can get out of your 1355, Do you have any experience with an LP engine in one of these beasts? what can they give out with a turbo? W. Kuhns

Hey where are you from in Pa. I'm from the central part of Pa. I have no experience will Lp and a turbo. We mainly just turn up diesels to farm with. There is a Unlimited superstock G-1000 running alcohol turning 6,500RPMS down the track with the stock crank. He also is running 3 turbos. Our 2155 Oliver with a 585 MM is running around 350-400Hp for pulling only. If you go much above this range, you break head bolts, blow head gaskets, or send the crank out the bottom. With the stock MM rear in the 2155, we can pull 4th out of 5 gears with the Amplitorc ahead.

hey, The G1000, would it happen to be a NTPA and ATPA puller? I know that Aaron Hull from Waupun,WI have one. Do you know of another one? I'm located in the county seat of Franklin county. Shippensburg is having a pull here soon. I'll get back with the date soon. they pull a turbo class i think it's 9500 lb class. In this area. a lot of moline guys like to put 800's in a G6 or G705 and run in the nonturbo class. NO competition for them
