I have a 445 industrial with loader and backhoe for sale.

Engine runs strong, but has main bearing rap. I just rebuilt the top end - valve job, rings, rod bearings. Has new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and throwout bearing fork. Also has new brakes, re-cored radiator, rebuilt water pump, rebuilt carb, and new intake/exhaust manifold. Sheet metal is good, paint rough. Ampli-torc doesn't slip

Backhoe valve needs replacing, front valve weeps a little. I installed a new hydralic pump with priority flow divider for the power steering, I have the original tandem pump. Pins and bushings for backhoe and front bucket need replacing. Most of the hydralic lines have been replaced. Pistons are good, but the dipper piston has some pitting from rust.

One of the rear rims broke in half. I made a new one with 3/4 plate and shelby tubing, works, but its not original. Rubber is fair. Boths seats are junk.

I have at least $1500 in new parts. It is located in Southeastern Mass.

I can provide pictures if wanted.

In your ad you stated you put a new hydraulic pump with a flow divider for PS. My 445 needs a new pump. Could you tell me what kind of pump you used and where you purchased it and the flow divider?

Thanks in advance,

Larry Brooks

Ooops, sorry, I thought you also asked how it was mounted. My apologies if you didn't need this much info.

Thanks Jon,

That was very informative. I was hoping for an easier solution but when you are dealing with a tractor that is as old as I am, nothing is so simple.

Thanks again,

Larry

I used a cessna "SAE B" mount pump. It has a 7/8 13 splined shaft, although the pump shaft doesn't matter, that's just what I happened to have. The "B" mount has a 4" round pilot w/2 1/2 bolt holes on the ears. I took a 3/8" steel plate, cut the 4" hole in the center, then drilled and tapped the two bolt holes. The old pump had 4 1/2" bolts (not in a square pattern). I took two opposite corners and drilled holes in the plate to match up with them.

For the driveshaft to pump adapter, my driveshaft was 1" with a 3/16" keyway (would have been nice to have a 1/4 keyway). I had a local shop take a 1" coupling, and a 7/8" 13 splined coupling and, using a lathe enlarged one end of the splined coupling to accept the 1" coupling, then they pressed the couplings together, welded, then shortened the whole thing to what I needed. They also had to broach a 3/16 keyway in the 1" side. It would have been easier if the pump also had a 1" shaft.

The flow divided is a standard adjustable priority flow divider.

You can get the pump and flow divider at either Northern Hydraulics (www.northerntool.com) or from Burdens Surplus Center, no website, I don't have the number off hand. They have a wider selection of pumps and dividers. They also have "tandem pumps"; one mount is SAE "B", with a mounting surface on the back of the pump for mounting an SAE "A" pump. You can use a 15gpm pump for main hydraulics, and a smaller 5gpm for power steering, the only problem is you have to put a supply line from the tank to each pump.

Feel free to ask if you have any more questions
