Hey Everyone
I have this Minneapolis-Moline UTS and I don't know how "big" it is. I have an engine model # if that will help: 4 1/4 X 5 283A4. Or if someone knows where I can go to find out. I'm Greatful for any info you all can give.

Thank You

Carl in Idaho

You have a later uts it is a 283 cube. the nebraska test shows 42 horse but it seems most good running U's will pull more,(I think higher fuel octane). It also depends on what heads are on it.

I have no idea which heads I have I do know that each head has a different spark plug # and it takes two different size sockets to change them. Thanks for the info now I have a general idea.

get the numbers off your heads, (spark plug side), and post them If You have a GE series(older heads) and a 10A42## I have a cross refrence chart. If you run different heads i can be a problem.

GE30E and 4209 are the same head. Moline changed the casting number at some point the 4209 is newer.

I had a '49 U with different size spark plugs. One head was a GE 30E (original spec), and one was a 10A4209 (from a UB). I found out that one head had cracked and it was replaced with a newer style. This is probably what happened with yours.
