Could someone help narrow down the models of MM with a 6 cyl. It has no 3pt., no pto, no p/s, but has electric start, WFE, either a 5 or 6 speed, a swivel seat mount, and only a drawbar. Is said to have never been in a field. Was used all of it's working life to move grain in an elevator or something indoors. There is a covered port on the rear where I'd think the pto fits, a somewhat oval shaped cover. Ring any bells?

I don't think any U's were built with 6 cyl engine. I think the first 6 cyl gas engines were in the G1000. Some people say some G-6's were 6 cyl gassers but I don't think so. Sounds like somebody put the 6 in a U.

You guys are right, I goofed on the 6 cyl. It's a 4 thumper. Geez am I glad I borrowed it to bale with. The 9n would have killed me on the hills I did, no kidding. There was even a moment that the baler pushed me with the tires locked up.

With a swivel seat and a 6 cylinder I would expect it to be a GT or GB diesel since I don't think any other models with a 6 had a swivel seat.

You should find a model & serial number on the right side of the transmission housing.

I'll look for that number. By the way, it's a gas engine, and pretty old. Looks like the same era as the letter Farmalls. Has a u-jopint in the steering shaft as it "turns the corner" around the rear of the hood/engine area. The old guy that owns it says it'll run 10 gallons of gas a day with moderate use.

It's a U. I borrowed it for a while to help with my chores, baling especially. Drove it the 10 miles to my field and had a bunch of trouble with the fuel line plugged at a sediment bowl mid-line. It's definitely a nasty old girl. Not much at all for a muffler, trans makes lots of noise in road gear, has auto snow tires on front and, it's pink! The baling is on a hillside so I wanted something with a lot more mass than the 9N.
