I'm deep into the repaint of my 670 super. I'm kinda stuck with what to do with the aluminum pieces on the sides of the hood that say Minneapolis-Moline. The background is white, the letters are a raised stamping that is black and the edges of the letters are bare aluminun for about 1/16th inch all around each letter. I'm not sure how to procede. If I shoot the white and hand paint the black, I'll still have to deal with that narrow raw aluminum. I'm not that good! Any suggestions? The rivets are gone from the emblems, and my local mm expert says they're probably siliconed on. This isin't a show tractor, but I would like to make it look a bit nicer. The white is in pretty good shape, and I may just rub the white out a bit with some fine compound and then touch up the black on the letters by hand. Any better ideas? Thanks,Scott

On one of the M-M's we had I went to the auto parts store and got a paint marker in white and black and carefully colored back what I could. You want to get a paint that will hold up to the weather. Or on the black you could paint it with a foam brush. They are held on with a silicone type adheasive but I would put in a couple rivets to be on the safe side. M-M origionaly had some white push clips to hold them on but over the years the plastic become brittle and falls off.

Pete, I work for Sherwin Williams you might also try a rubber roller to roll on your embossed letters in black. We have them in the warehouse but I don't know there real name of them. I beleive they call them a printers ink roller. That way you only paint the high spots of the emblem and use a paint of your choice. Kevin "mushy" Moschenrose
