Irecently purchased a used complete hydro assembly to replace the original which was a very early system. The original system was never very reliable. Now the the replacement is a problem. the draft arms raiseto max.height and are impossibleto lower. The seller says to reset the adjustments per I & T manual. This is totally hopeless. The guts of this unit are nothing like the manual description which does a lousy job even at depicting the original unit. Can anyone here give me info. on overcoming this problem. Ihave already spent a ton of money trying to make my original unit function. So far the retrofit only provides more frustration.

I'm not sure I can help. Which manual are you looking at? I'm guessing you have enough hydraulic oil in the system.
Did you install a lift that has the rate and cycle levers in place of the original lift, which presumably did not?
Do the draft arms raise when you move the lever, or do they act all on their own?
If you have plenty of oil, if you have the unit with the lift and cycle levers, and if the lift is coming up only when you pull the lever, I would try moving the rate and cycle levers. I've read that one of them can be used to hold the lift in the up position for transport. I think it overrides the lift lever when in this position.
These levers are in a 2" x 4" plate on the valve body housing, and may have had their handles broken off.

Hi Kelvin;Iam looking at manual MM-7.Replaced the original Std. unit with a rate cycle unit.Lift operates only when lever is moved in what ever increments of movement selected until full range is reached. Then the system is properly unloaded. Engine and pump do not labor. I have moved the range and cycle levers to no avail.Draft arms cannot be lowered without removing the socket head plug on top of the spool valve. My manual does not apply to the unit I now have and was of little use on the original outfit. Thanks for your help. John Cooney

Hi Ol Chief. Try looking in I&T shop manual MM-14. Manual MM-7 is for 335 models prior to sn 1872. Manual MM-14 also covers later tractors with Tel-O-Flo systems. Hope this helps.
