To all MM nuts out there:

I know that lately Minneapolis Moline 800 blocks are all the rage for big power. I have used M5 and G blocks. How about the G-1355 585 diesel blocks? Will 585 blocks go on a U? How? Will heads match up like stock or 800 ones do? If anyone has tried the 4-3/4" 585 blocks or have any answers let me know. Also looking for 3-7/8" U302 diesel blocks to bore for a jet star puller engine. Rare I guess.

I was going to ask today if anyone ever tried to use U302 diesel blocks and put gas heads on it. I have a Jetstar 3 I was thinking about doing tis to. Does it work? Has anyone ever experimented with this?

The valve arrangement is different and so is the bolt pattern. at the very least you would have to make a cam

I guess from the sounds of what I have been hearing, the 585 is kind of a MM oddball engine. Thanks for the info. 800 blocks sound more reasonable maybe.

The valve configuration is different I hear. I have no real clear answers, but things line up a little different I know for sure.
