I am restoring a Oliver version of the G-1355 and I have a question for you minneapolis moline guys. The oliver guys arn't too familiar with this animal! Anyway, I was wondering what ran the tachometer. The one that is in the tractor is electronic-not a cable driven one. There is no sensor to be found for it to read from. It kind of looks like it might be an after market but I'm not sure. So if someone could tell me how it is supposed to be and where it drives off of it would be greatly appreciated- Thanks alot

They used a Delco alternator with an extra terminal for the tach. If you have an alternator that does not have the extra terminal, you can dis-assemble the alternator, and connect a wire to any of the three stator terminals, and bring the wire out the back. Connect your tach to this new lead.

The tach is operated by the alternator. I have a wiring diagram off of a 2-150 white that should be identical if needed. I didn't see any post on the oliver forum asking about this. The white 2-150 is the same tractor as the G-1355. We have one with a turbo running 225 Hp to farm with. If you have any other questions let me know.

Thanks for the reply. Is it a special alternator with a tach terminal on it? Mine just has a regular delco alternator. I'm sure it has been replaced before I owned the tractor and mabee they skimped and did'nt put the correct one back on? Anyway any response is much appreciated! I love our G-1355, what a nice tractor! By the way, what did you use for a exhaust manifold for your 150 white?

To add a turbo, we just added a flange right on top of the exhaust manifold. Then we mounted the turbo on top of it.
