I have a 5' Bush Hog Squealer and the 8N does fien with it and the hog is very well made and heavy duty. I would say it is a perfect choice. If I can drive over it the Bush Hog cuts it...never a problem.

When we were looking for one at the auctions they seemed to go for a good $, then we checked at the Bush Hog dealer and got a new one within $75 of what they were going for at auctions...who knew.

I have a 5' Howse that I use on 4 acres. Came w/8N and it has worked just fine. Be sure you have an ORC too. If you have a lot of loose stuff (rocks) you might consider a chain guard. I have read that the blade tip speed is 142 MPH at PTO speed of 540 RPM. So it has the posibility of launching things at a pretty good clip. Be careful.

Once you've cut the 6 acres once, keeping it down won't require much from a bush hog. I have a 5' King Kutter and it's been all I need for a similar mowing job. The paint job wasn't much but service-wise, good value for the money. If you were going to do some serious cutting like commercial or large farm work, then something more rugged would be appropriate. The 8N will handle the 5' easily...of course, no Zane Thang needed with the 8N.

So get out there and have mow fun.

5 foot King Kutter at CT late season last year for $500.
No complaints and actually am very impressed with the ruggedness and quality for the money...

I have a 4' Bush Hog Squealer(trade name). Works great, no problems, heavy duty. You need an ORC for sure, and/or Zane Thang or limiter chains. My $.02
