About a month ago, I met a guy at the storage place, where I pay rent to keep all my junk/toys,(depends on who you ask), he was cleaning up a very nice 1950 8N, new tires, very sharp tractor, he blasted it for 20 minutes with a pressure washer and it fired up on the first try, purred like a kitten,, still 6 volt system, that's what impressed me, had a woods finish mower behind it, also has a rear blade, lift pole, turning plow, and disc. Said he was on his way to try to sell it to his neighbor, wasn't sure what to ask for it. Wanted to know if I had any idea what it may be worth. I said "Sure do, I have an 8N, just about as nice, and with all the equipment you have with yours, why I wouldn't take a penny less than 3500.00 for the package". He said thanks, and we went about our ways. Yesterday, I saw the 8N back out at the storage place and the fellow was tinkering with something or other, I said "Hey, still got that tractor for sale?, I'll give you 2500.00 cash today for it.", His reply, "Nope, a man told me a while back that I'ld be a fool to take less than 3500." Ah well, live and learn. Maybe next time.
