Russ sherman did make a kit to get live power and live hyd. I do have a 8N with this conversion in it. I have only seen a handfull of these units so trying to find one is not easy. It took me 18 years to find mine and I buy and sell the 8N and 9N tractor for a living. Good luck and happy hunting Tractor Rod

First I heard of a Sherman live hydralic conversion and I am "et up with curiosity". Don't need a lot of detail since I have the hang of 8N hydralics but in general how did it work? Engine driven pump? Something in front of transmission like his aux transmission?

Enquiring minds want to know

seems to me if it were easy to do, it would be on all of 'em.

Follow a link below to a previous message regarding converting the hydraulics to be live. It seems like far more work than it is worth. Maybe it is time for a jubilee or naa if live hydraulics are necessary - with those you also get more horses.

There was an article in one of the back issues of N-News that described either a live PTO or live lift kit. If someone doesn't give a reference, I'll see if I can dig it out. There is not anything currently being manufactured that I'm aware of. There is a power steering conversion by Jackson that is available.
