We discuss all the ways to convert n's and I was wondering if anyone has the generator on their 8n with the adjustment screw on it just right of the oiler. When I got ready to change mine over to 12 volt an old Ford shop man told me all I would have to do was put in one resistor and turn the adjusting screw to high and change the battery to 12 volts. I did that and the battery stays up and it cranks on 12 volts. Been that way 12 years, tune up every other year replaced coil only when I left the switch on. Anyone else have one rigged like this..,Thanks guys

Did it on a Farmall 100 about 10 years ago. Worked fine.
