Go to your local junk yard and ask for a late 70's early 80's Delco 10 SI alternator. Mine cost $10.00. It will be a 3 wire job but one plugs back into the alternator and the main one goes to your terminal post and eventually to battery.

Rod..... the 1-wire alternator is the marine version of the Delco 10-SI and is a specialized internal regulator. Personally, I prefer the 3-wire Delco 10-SI for our low RPM N's.

Personally, I'd talk to the NAPA store manager and tell him I'm gonna take my business elsewheres if'n his parts persons can only figger things if'n they got to have numbers.

I'm told used Delco's can be had all ready checked out at the junk yards for $10-20..... .Dell

Just bought a alt at autozone for $22 but the kicker is $15 core, so if you dont have one laying around your cost is closer to $40. Parts guy said there wasnt any time limit to get it back so I'll scrunge around.
